Advanced Operational Systems

Applications in the National Security market often require data processing capabilities which go beyond those available from conventional software and hardware systems. For example, a common requirement is for systems which can process streamed IP (Internet Protocol)-based data at Gigabit speeds. Conventional software, running on commercially available computer servers is unable to cope with such performance demands.
Another common requirement is for systems which are able to detect and receive extremely weak radio signals in very noisy radio environments. Again, commercially available receiver technologies are not optimised for such requirements.
Meeting challenging requirements of this type typically involves designing bespoke systems for very specific applications, using a combination of customised hardware and software. In some cases this can even mean programming individual chipsets with specific functions to achieve maximum performance.

What we do

We design, build and support advanced operational systems, primarily for National Security applications. Examples include:
  • Highly reliable radio receivers which enable submarines to receive data around the globe, transmitted through water.
  • "Hardened" transmitter/receiver systems which improve the resilience and reliability of IP-based satellite communications.
  • Systems for processing and searching streamed IP data within the Internet at multi-gigabit speeds.
