Text Mining, Search & Retrieval
Organisations today generate ever-increasing volumes of digital information, content and documents. Most of it is filed away on IT systems in organised directories. There is often significant value to be obtained by unlocking the knowledge contained in all this information. This value lies in using retrieved knowledge to improve business process efficiency or uncover new and important facts and information.
However, to find the information you're after, you need to know where to look. And this is the crux of the problem, given the sheer volume of digital information we all store. The solution lies in a class of technologies which enable people to automate the process of intelligently searching, categorising and summarising different forms of stored information.
What we do
We design, build and support text mining, search and retrieval systems. The technologies we specialise in are as follows:
- Search - using keyword/fuzzy matching, concept matching and metadata matching to retrieve information ranked by relevancy.
- Categorisation - Allowing documents to be grouped together automatically and assigned to single or multiple categories.
- Theming or clustering - automatically extracting themes from documents to enable information discovery.
- Text mining or entity extraction - automatically pulling key facts out of unstructured content, such as proper-nouns, prices or relationships.
- Summarisation - enabling users to get a quick feel for a document.
- Temporal analysis - reporting on how content changes over time.
- Audio matching - search and phonetic matching to identify information in streams of audio data.
